“U Need-A Rest” was a one room log cabin with a front veranda and an out house in the back. Dad built a small addition onto the back the following year, but it remained humble and was always a place where kids could be kids with their wet bathing suits, sandy feet and laughter.
This place and this lake became our true home. We were a military family and were posted almost every year to a new town, a new school, no friends, new friends. But “the lake” was always ours, and always there.
