Detail:
This watercolour was painted from “real life” in 1994 while living in Scottsdale, Arizona.
I studied watercolour painting specifically for over ten years, at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and in the U.S. at Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, Arizona, and at the Cuyahoga Valley School of Art in Ohio, and in several workshops in Canada and the U.S.
I rarely work with watercolours anymore, preferring acrylics, collage, mixed media, monoprint and pen & ink… so this is definitely a blast from the past!

It’s certainly beautiful, like a scene out of a dream.

Watercolours can be like that; I think that’s what attracted me to study the medium initially. After about ten years of it somehow it became too fiddly and I started throwing paint and tearing up paper. 😉 thx for your nice note. – Deb
