This shows some detail of a larger acrylic painting in progress – actual canvas size 48″ x 48″.
The larger work is inspired by the stairs in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that wind beside and below the road taking tourists down into the shops of the Romantic District. I studied theses steps and took photographs, and started painting an interpretation of them in 2005. Ahem… it is still unfinished.
Lately the canvas keeps calling my name. It needs work, but small areas of it feel good to me, so I’m sharing one here with you now.
