agaves @ The Ruth Bancroft Garden

I took these photos (and many more) at The Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek, California. I have a few agaves in containers in my small yard that I purchased here. The Ruth Bancroft Garden will “take back” your agaves and cactus should (when) they grow too large for your yard! It’s nice to know there’s and “old folks home” for these awesome specimens. http://www.ruthbancroftgarden.org/

As much as I like looking at (and growing) these beautiful plants, I like photographing them for potential painting subjects. I love the play of light and shadow that define their edges + spines.

And of course Agaves is where Tequila comes from!
CHEERS!
