Sketchbook drawings 2016: post #1

Sketchbook doodling helps me manage chronic back pain. I’ve replaced painkillers with drawing & music … sketchbook and pens are never far away.

FullSizeRender-43Usually I draw in Moleskine sketchbooks, but have been trying a new one this time: Leuchtturm 1917. Its pages are a brighter white than the Moleskine sketchbooks I typically use, but Moleskine’s paper has a smoother surface.

I’ve also been trying out different pens, and as you’ll see in future posts, I’ve started to add some colour.

Some of my abstract paintings & illustrations take their cues from my rambling drawings.
